One of Tadoba's quiet advantages is logistics: Nagpur, a major airport with direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, sits roughly 140 kilometres from the Moharli gate. Land by noon and you can be watching a tiger at a waterhole the same evening — no overnight train, no small-plane hop.
The transfer
The drive to Moharli takes about two and a half to three hours on good highway; Kolara gate is a similar run on the northern route. We arrange air-conditioned private transfers timed to your flight — aim to leave Nagpur by 1 pm if you want to make the same-day evening safari.
How many nights?
Two nights and three or four drives is the sensible minimum and suits a weekend from any metro. Three nights lets you mix core gates with a buffer drive and an evening at leisure. Photographers chasing specific tigers should plan four nights in a single zone rather than hopping gates.
Season and permits
October to February is green and comfortable; March onwards the forest dries, heat climbs and sightings concentrate at water — April and May are peak action if you tolerate 40°C afternoons. The core closes on Tuesdays and permits are zone- and seat-specific, so lock dates before you book flights. Tell us your window and we handle gates, jeeps and naturalists end to end.
